Nadim ABBAS (born 1980, Hong Kong) received his BFA from London’s Chelsea College of Art & Design (2002) and Mphil from The University of Hong Kong (2006), Department of Comparative Literature. ABBAS mainly examines the structural and political properties of images and their precarious relationship with reality. Revolving around the psychological influences of kitsch and cliche. his sculptural installations are the immersive environments of ambiguous forms. He weaves extensive research with sophisticated visual manoeuvres to destabilise our perception of space. Participated exhibitions include solo exhibitions "Poor  Toy" (VITRINE, Basel, Switzerland, 2019), "P-Scape"  (public sculpture) (Tai Kwun, Hong Kong, 2018), “Blue Noon” (Last Tango, Zürich, 2017), “Camoufleur” (VITRINE, London, 2017), “Chimera” (Antenna Space, Shanghai, 2016), “The Last Vehicle” (Ullens Centre for Contemporary Art, Beijing, 2016), group exhibition "Only the Lonely" (Gallery EXIT, Hong Kong, 2018), “Dismantling the Scaffold” (Tai Kwun Contemporary, Hong Kong, 2018) and “Triennial: Surround Audience” (New Museum, New York, 2015).
