BIOGRAPHY Stanley SHUM Kwan Hon Born in 1989, Hong Kong Stanley Shum Kwan Hon is currently based in Hong Kong. With an emphasis in oil painting, Shum’s expressive works investigate the mentality of individual and social ideologies of the reality, discussing psychologies of contemporary people, concepts of social and personal disorder, and human conditions such as depression and hollowness. He has received numerous awards and scholarships, including Best Student from Each Concentration Award - Visual Arts (HKBU) in 2010; Cheung’s Fine Arts Award (Western Painting), Sir Edward Youde Memorial Scholarship, the Cheng Foundation Scholarship, and CUHK Convocation Outstanding Creativity Student Award, all in 2013.
