​Gallery EXIT is pleased to announce the first solo exhibition in a decade of Lin Xue's works on paper. Hong Kong-based Lin creates ink works on paper with a razor sharp bamboo blade, revealing the soft inner voices of nature - Whispers in the Wind. Oscillating between a macro and micro perspective, the minute scale of Lin Xue's drawings is at odds with his inexhaustible subject matter – nature. The surfaces are vivacious in their intensely rich details. Lin Xue draws, making small marks that form lines. As the lines capture and freeze time bit by bit with an awareness of joy, they join together to form plants, creatures, conglomerations and landscapes. A cosmic celebration thus unfolds before our eyes. It is an invitation to look into inside and hear that which has not been named, to hear the sound of silence.

Lin Xue was born in 1968 and currently resides in Hong Kong. His paintings were exhibited in the Manulife Young Artists Series 1995 and the Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition 1998. During the last ten years, Lin Xue has been documenting his surroundings in contemplation away from the public eye. The resulting body of work will be exhibited in the coming years.

安全口畫廊呈獻林穴十年來首次個人展覽。香港出生的林穴以沾了墨水的竹筆在畫紙上鈎畫出《在風中低語》系列裡一幅幅玲瓏剔透的大自水墨圖。從宏觀到微視的反覆對話中，林穴作品裡精靈細緻的筆觸與畫中大自 然主體，形成強烈的對照，活潑的細節鋪陳更為作品增添凝聚張力。林穴 以點與綫來編織、組合、孕育出各種植物、鳥獸、草木及山石景緻，呈現 出一個徘徊於空想與現實之間的和諧世界。這同時也是向觀衆發出的一封 去「傾聽未被命名的事物，傾聽空白的聲音」的邀請函。 

林穴1968 年生，現居香港。作品曾於 1995 年巨集利藝術新進作展(Manulife Young Artists Series 95'，香港藝術中心)及香港藝術雙年展一九九八展出。 過去十年林穴埋首創作，紀錄身邊的每事每物，期間的創作將於未來數年 陸續展出。
